So is this actually gonna happen? no choice in the matter from the fans?

I suggest make a trial 5v5 version with the latest heroes and everything and a 3v3v3 with the same heroes and everything and see which the clan likes best

also if this is happening, when could we expect it?

well... the fan base is small as is (hell i myself dont consider myself a "fan" as im often going off doing my own thing, im not even playing the damn map correctly either =_=)

i doubt there will be a 3v3v3 -> 5v5 switch any time soon as alex cant terrain (the current one is by green kid if i recall... so desolate.. so tree less... well... was...)

if 3v3v3 failed, and 5v5 fails, we can try 10 v comp (oh boy original AoS style!!), or 2v2v2v2 (this actually wont work that well, and for you mappers you can use nutral hostle and nutral as players effectively raising the cap to 14 instead of 12) or FFA where each player sends 11 units down a single lane and in the middle all the units will attack the other players (to prevent creep clashes, the creeps cannot attack other creeps that dont belong to their target player, in other words itll turn into 12 single lane battles where its 11 units vs 1 unit from the other 11 players) and the player has to lane down and pick a target to help push against.

5v5 would add alot more teamplay and less back attacks. Right now its 2 lanes per team with 3 heros, good combo but because any team can easily stack 3 heros on a single lane it usually leads to either 2 teams clashing togeter while 1 team attacks when one of the other teams is away allowing them a effortless push, or it becomes a 6v3 because you have two teams pushing on you at the same time.

When you loose, you want to know how you lost. When you loose because of something that is completely out of your hands (like running in because the game script in CoD4:MW2 wont run unless you do, and when it runs it miraculously spawn emys that proceed to hail bullets on you at point blank, or in dota when the oger magi hits level 6 and pulls off a multicast that one hits you when you out level him and have much much better gear then him, or when you run into a room thinking its safe to kill the slave zombie infront of you only to have him trow a bottle of fire (works like a nade) at some explosive barrles (if you melle them they do NOT blow up) and having everything blow up killing you even with your sheild up <yes.... i played demon souls.... may god have mercy on my soul... god damn i actually died on a tutorial level!!!!! And not just once too, prolly 10 times at least! running into a random as f*ck RED KNIGHT!!! running on what seemed to be a patch of dirt but because of my bros shitty tv (and he tells me its better then my SD protable, theres no point in a tv if its so dark you cant SEE ANYTHING) it turned out to be a pit, getting stabbed by a slime that woudent die, and missing a strong attack only to thrust myself off the bridge and down a few flights in heavy armor... ya get the point)... im gona stop... and move onto the next paragragh which will be a recap and a continuation because i lost my train of thought remembering my many deaths in demon souls..... and many more to come with the TOWER KNIGHT T_T <ankle stab -> stab ->stab -> Gets crushed by him falling ontop of me>

OKAY... So when you die, you want to know why you died and how you died. You dont want some bull shit death like the ones mentioned above. With the game as is, because of how you cant keep tabs on your emys at all times (because creeps can make it from tower 1 to tower 3 <in the case that tower 1 and 2 is dead> before your creeps spawn) you often get frustrated at how the game was stacked against you and how both teams just happens to be pushing at the same time or one just happens to hit your bases back side. Its bad game design. By limiting the game to Two teams or a single team, you eliminate this problem.

enough of my rant, bottom line is without a terrainer alex will never get to this, and i know how much you love 3v3v3 go ahead and bask in it while its still like this. GOD DAMN TOWER KNIGHT!!!!

and 3v3v3 hasent failed yet, its just the absence of any one hosting the damn game. spreading the word.

lol psi I had an experience similar to that

I was playing FF12 (I don't hate all anime, just quite a bit) and you know how you can get double attacks or triple attacks as well as crits? well I was running through a safe looking field when a snake pops up out of nowhere - and bites me 16 times in a row extremely fast, it was just bitebitebitebitebitebitebitebitebitebitebitebitebitebitebitebiteDEAD I didnt even get one hit against it.... what are the chances of it procuring 16 times in a row, WHY DOES IT EVEN ALLOW IT TO PROC THAT HIGH?

Yea... i never really understood that either (mind you i had no idea what was what untill i strayed far from an effective build and ended up quickening everything i see..... well... near the local save point that is) The game just seems to love random chances (as you said #of hits and crits) as well as pulling off MMO elements like "Here is a lv 20~27 feild and wer gona stick a monster with the stats of a level 60 in there for rare monster hunters, for everyone else whos going though the feild... tough luck" and the scaling for the wanted lists are just unfair, i dont know if its because i was being loot crazy and taking every bounty on he board or it was because they thought "you can take down things 3~4x your level no problem"

Back on topic....

@grr, 3v3v3 has failed, if it succeeded then people would replay the map. If not for the who pushes who or what problem, then it would be the what to do with the dead team. Which essentally leads to 3 options (3 teams of 3 people with 3 options for defeated.... mmm 3.....) Put them as Observers, Make them join one of the two remaining sides (aka UW), or end the game altogeter (Chaos). One side lost and 1/3rd of the player base poofs like that (or gets stacked against you). Either way, noones happy. They dont want to be stuck doing nothing but watching, the side that is being stacked against dont want to fight an army thats now twice as large, and ending the game when a single side dies while two still live leaves the survivors with a feeling of "Im still alive, and the guy i want to kill is still alive. Why is the game over!? Isnt this too short!?".

Tell me this, what good has come out of 3 teams of 3 people aside from its fun to say?
Its impossible to get a resonable defeat action up that is appealing to everyone
More often then not people will complain about how both sides are stacking on a single side
There is not much of a team to work with, and getting a team of balanced heros is near impossible. If your support, unless your lucky enough to have a friend its impossible to make use of your skills because theres nothing to support.
If one player on your team goes down, your loosing a third of your man power. its like loosing 2 fingers on each hand, its not gona work properly anymore.

Hmm, since i'm working on the terrain for this one i'm asuming its Orcs vs Night elves not sure.. Alex just said "Make it 5v5" XD.

With the release of 5v5, i think i like 3v3v3 better, because 5v5 is basically a copy of DoTa, but 5v5 is still better than DoTA imo.... but 3v3v3 was still much more fun for me
